DEP Publishes Formal Notice Announcing Issuance Of Shell Petrochemical Plant Air Quality Plan Approval For Beaver County Facility

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the October 3 PA Bulletin announcing the issuance of an Air Quality Plan Approval for the Shell Petrochemical Plant in
n Potter and Center Townships, Beaver County.  The notice begins the formal appeal period. (PA Bulletin, page 6565)

The permit covers multiple sources of air pollution at the facility, including ethylene emissions and air pollution controls on ground flares, the wastewater treatment plant and as-built air pollution controls.

A copy of the September 22 Air Quality Plan Approval and comment/response document was made available last week.  Read more here

Any person aggrieved by this decision has 30 days from this notice to file an appeal with the Environmental Hearing Board.
